A few tips to keep you safe this season…

• Check wind and weather before heading out, we use @metoffice & @windy.app
• Paddle within your ability, we recommend wind speeds no higher than 12 knots (13mph)
• Dress appropriately. It’s still winter wetsuit season, the water temp is around 6 ºC, simply put, that’s cold! Which means high risk of cold water shock and other nasties
• Consider wearing a PFD (personal flotation device), basically a buoyancy aid/life jacket. This could be a lifeline and is essential if you're paddling alone
• Take your mobile phone, in a waterproof case! In case of an emergency call 999 and ask for the coastguard

We keep talking about this, for us it’s how we stay grounded and connected with ourselves and our values. As business owners we often put a silly amount of pressure on ourselves to know everything, to deliver, to grow, to meet demands and hit targets. Fundamentally too much pressure creates stress and worry and we become distracted from our true vision and goals.

We know we are guilty of the above but the difference is, we are 100% aware when that creeps in so we can make moves to reground, reconnect and refocus. It’s like a big game of chess.
